The cold front in the Northeast is not my friend. After sending Home Front’s Summer 2025 Trend Watch out into the world, I’m ready to be in full sandals-and-sun-loungers mode. If you haven’t checked it out yet, we dive into the backyard elements soon to be everywhere (hello, fresh silhouettes and tile takes).

Putting Home Front’s Trend Watches together always takes me back to my print days. And if you’re an O.G. Domino reader, you’ll recognize today’s guest editor, Jessie Randall. Back in 2006, she was the cover star of our September issue, where we dubbed her our favorite new shoe designer. These days, Jessie’s brand, Loeffler Randall, is in the big leagues with two stores, a collab with McGee & Co., and a collection of ready-to-wear pieces that get snapped up just as quickly as her iconic boots and ballet flats.

For her latest venture, Jessie is pulling back the curtain on her travels, styling tricks, and home renovations (have you seen her candlestick rack?) right here on Substack. When I asked Jessie how fashion is influencing interiors, her response was, “I think interiors influence fashion!” How exactly? Keep reading for her insider insights, plus a few kitchen renovation ideas for a reader. —Lindsey Mather, digital director

Current Mood

What I’m loving: Single-pattern rooms, like my bedroom in the Hamptons (see it in my shopping list, below). I want every space in my house to have one gorgeous pattern: on the walls, on the curtains, on the ceiling. I’m obsessed! It’s so stunning and such a statement. Bold and over the top, but also cohesive and soothing on the eyes. I love the nostalgia it conjures, but it also feels incredibly modern to me.

How I’d bring the look home: The main thing is to find a print you adore and want to be surrounded by forever. Choose a print that you can picture yourself loving for decades. Use that pattern on pillows, curtains, and custom upholstery—all of these help complete the look. Julie Thorne is a Northeast-based drapery maker I have heard raves about.
