Labeling Your Design Style
I think categorizing your sense of style can be helpful, but at the same time, it can box you in. Not to say that I don’t think you can stick to a specific style, because I’ve seen it done very well. But personally, homes that mesh together different aesthetics to create someone’s own authentic look always catch my eye the most. I, too, like to design my spaces this way, pulling inspiration from established styles, then putting my twist on them. I tend to not have an adequate response when asked “what is your home decor style?” because it’s such an eclectic mix. It can be challenging to explain, because it’s just me and what I like—and that is all that matters. —Aarica Nichole, content creator
